Position Summary:
Laborer – Sanitation/Sweeper ensures the integrity and safety of food products by ensuring a clean facility.
Core Functions:
All job duties require attention to safe operation and demonstration of safe work habits and behaviors.
This includes the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for each job task.
Observe all Safety and Food Safety guidelines and adhere to all company rules and policies as well as good manufacturing practices.
Know and understand the functions of cleaning chemicals used for sanitation purposes.
Communicate effectively with supervisory staff regarding plant sanitation and safety procedures.
Perform procedures for cleaning and sanitizing the plant and equipment.
Clean the plant, including peripheral areas, such as overhead piping and beams, dumpster area, warehouse and cooler racking, and forklifts/pallet jacks.
Maintain a clean work area.
Work in temperature and humidity extremes (includes work at heights).
Abide by all company rules and policies as well as good manufacturing practices.
Observe all Safety and Food Safety guidelines and use proper safety equipment at all times.
Additional duties as requested or assigned.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
Must be able to proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety training and processes.
Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
Work Schedule:
1st shift.
Must be willing to work overtime and varied schedules as necessitated by operations.

Language Requirements, if any: Ability to read and write in English is required for the purposes of record keeping and training.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
