Position Overview
Position Summary:
The Department of Physical Sciences at Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) invites applications for a grant-funded research technician.
The appointment is for one year, with a start date of August 14th, 2023.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Review of completed applications will begin on July 24th, 2023 and continue until position is filled.
Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Synthesizing and characterizing carbonyl-functionalized conjugated molecules (both small molecules and polymers) for solar energy conversion.
Summarizing findings and publishing results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and project progress reports.
Presenting findings at research conferences.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements: A recent MS in chemistry and/or chemical engineering.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated experience (via publication record) in the noted organic synthesis and characterization methods Ability to work as a team player Ability to communicate and present information clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing Working Conditions Physical Demand and Working Conditions: Work is sedentary in nature with 10 pounds of maximum weight to lift and carry Work during normal work hours and may include weekend and evening hours Work requires reaching, handling of objects with hands and/or fingers, talking, and/or hearing, and seeing Work may involve exposure to health hazards through the use of chemicals and instruments in the research laboratories Additional Information Application Review Date: July 24, 2023 Condition of Employment: Must pass a pre-employment background check.
