Salary Depends on Qualifications Location Main Campus - Portales, NM Job Type Full time permanent Job Number 2024-00027 Department President's Office Division Human Resources Opening Date 02/06/2024 Position Overview Under general supervision, the HR generalist is responsible for a wide-range of human resources functions including but not limited to recruiting, new hire onboarding, leave processing, billing processing, employee training and development, and employee relations.
Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with ENMU's recruitment process: assist with job descriptions and advertisement development, post open positions, screen resumes as requested Initiate new hire appointment letters Conduct New Hire Orientation and process new hire paperwork Develop, implement and deliver trainings to the campus community Represent ENMU at community events and Job Fairs Counsel employees on benefits and coordinate vendor visits and benefit fairs Maintain employment opportunities on ENMU's website, as well as place ads on outside websites and other entities Manage the Human Resources social media accounts Assist with coordinating open enrollment, and assist employees with benefit related questions Maintain electronic leave, and manage employee file scanning processes\ May reconcile billings statements for various fringe benefits as needed Create/reconcile various reports for ENMU departments as well as for the state Assist with processing FMLA and Workers compensation claims Assist with employee relations investigations as needed Other duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of one year of experience required.
Banner, NEOGOV, and WebExtender experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of integrated technology-based information systems Independent learning skills and a strong motivation to succeed in helping ENMU achieve its goals and mission Ability to understand and convey procedures and regulations established Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with others Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Strong organization skills Comfortable with public speaking Working Conditions Physical Demand and Working Conditions: Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Paid Time Off Full time exempt employees accrue 14.
66 hours of annual leave and 14 hours of medical leave per month.
Employees must work for the University for three months before they are eligible to use annual leave.
Leave accruals will be pro-rated for part time employees.
Temporary employees do not accrue leave.
Employee Educational Assistance Plan Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees.
This program waives the tuition for one course (up to four credit hours) per semester.
Employees' spouses may be eligible to use the tuition waiver during any semester that it is not being used by the employee.
