Salary Depends on Qualifications Location Main Campus - Portales, NM Job Type Full time permanent Job Number 2024-00035 Department Academic Affairs Division College of Education and Technology Opening Date 02/12/2024 Position Overview Position Summary: The College of Education and Technology is seeking qualified candidates to teach as a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Middle/Secondary Education and Curricular Practice.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach courses using face-to-face and distance education technologies in a regional institution of higher education, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, build relationships with local school districts and be active in education throughout the state of New Mexico.
Salary based on experience.
This is a residential appointment and campus presence is required.
Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational, instructional, and curricular practice, foundations, instructional and curricular design Develop and deliver courses, using traditional face-to-face and distance delivery models Engage in an active research and publication agenda, including grant writing Supervision of field placements Advise students Service to the department, college, university, New Mexico public schools, NM Public Education Department and professional organizations within the field of expertise Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements: A doctorate (ABD considered) in Middle School Education, High School Education, Public Education, Organizational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction or related field (with focus on public education) and three years of experience in PreK-12 public education.
Knowledge, Skills and Talent Commitment to collaboration and working as part of a team to visualize, plan, deliver, assess, and redirect programs as needed to serve stakeholders; Willingness to travel to teach cohort groups on-site at a distance; Experience in (or willingness to learn) teaching online; Experience in (or willingness to learn) advanced technologies to enhance face-to-face and online teaching; Evidence of ability to build and maintain strong relationships with PreK-12 partners; Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Working Conditions Physical Demand and Working Conditions: Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
